چکیده
In the face of depletion of fossil resources, the development of nuclear power in the world is inevitable. Poland is one of the few developed countries, which does not have a nuclear power plant [1]. Therefore, The programme of Polish nuclear energy has recently been implemented. Simultaneously, the interest in domestic uranium ores, which fi rst appeared in the fi ftieth of the previous century, has been renewed. Uranium is still recognized as a leading fi ssion material. It is most often considered as the irreplaceable raw material for nuclear industry [2] and demand for uranium is expected to continue to rise in the foreseeable future. Therefore, studies on the prospects of uranium recovery from secondary sources are currently in progress. Although mining of domestic uranium deposits does not seem profi table, the situation could change along with changes in global uranium market [3]. Challenges for the future include the recovery of uranium from resources that may be of lower grade and located deeper than recently processed deposits. According to the current state of knowledge and assessment carried out by Ion exchange investigation for recovery of uranium from acidic pregnant leach solutions Bożena Danko, Rajmund S. Evaluating Commercial Macroporous Resin (D201) for Uranium Uptake in Static and Dynamic Fixed Bed Ion Exchange Column
As part of the development of equipment and innovative technology for the process flow-sheet, a study on the selection of good resin for uranium uptake is ongoing. Both static and dynamic column equilibrium testing upon synthetic and Gattar pregnant leach solutions (PLS) were carried out to estimate the change of total capacity and breakthrough capacity of the commercial macroporous anion excha...
متن کاملThe Recovery of Platinum, Palladium, and Gold from a Cyanide Heap Solution, with Use of Ion Exchange Resins
Ion exchange resins were investigated for the effective recovery of platinum, palladium, and gold from a pregnant cyanide heap leach solution. Screening results indicated that strong-base anion exchange resins proved to be most effective in the recovery of these metal cyanides. Gold was selectively recovered with the use of Minix, while effective recovery of gold, platinum, and palladium over t...
متن کاملV). Separation Processes-solvent Extraction/ Ion Exchange for Metal Ions
In the hydrometallurgical processing of complex ores/ concentrates/ secondaries/ wastes, the solutions containing different non-ferrous metals are obtained during teaching the materials in acidic, ammoniacal or alkaline lixiviants. The spent solutions and effluents are also generated in different process industries and contain metallic values. Their discharge in the sewage or river is major con...
متن کاملSolvent extraction of uranium from leach solutions obtained in processing of Polish low-grade ores
Solvent extraction of uranium from acidic and alkaline post-leaching liquors that were obtained by leaching of Polish ores is reported in this paper. The stripping of uranium from organic to aqueous phase was also studied. The synergistic mixture of 2-diethylhexylphosphoric acid (D2EHPA) and tri-n-butylphosphate (0.2 M:0.2 M) was found as a good extracting agent for uranium. Recovery of uranium...
متن کاملEvaluating ion exchange resin efficiency and oxidative capacity for the separation of uranium(IV) and uranium(VI)
UNLABELLED BACKGROUND Previously described methods to separate dissolved U(IV) from dissolved U(VI) under acidic anoxic conditions prior to laboratory analysis were ineffective with materials currently available commercially. Three strong anion exchange resins were examined for their efficiency in separating, recovering, and preserving both redox states during separation. RESULTS Under oxi...
